Bromley is technically a London Borough, but it’s the greenest one at that. Over 50% of the borough is green space, which explains why it feels more like a Kentish market town than a concrete jungle.

 * Claim to Fame: It was the home of Charles Darwin (at Down House) and the birthplace of H.G. Wells. Even David Bowie spent his formative years here—he actually got married at the Bromley Old Town Hall in 1970.

 * The Vibe: High-end shopping at The Glades, a thriving theater scene at the Churchill Theatre, and more "Outstanding" schools than you can shake a stick at.

If you're in town this week, here are a few things on the local radar:

 * Football Fever: Bromley FC is currently playing in Sky Bet League Two. In fact, they just played a sold-out match against Bristol Rovers yesterday (March 14) at the CopperJax Community Stadium.

 * On Stage: The Churchill Theatre is currently hosting family-friendly performances of Tales From Acorn Wood Live (starting March 21), and comedian Josh Baulf is set to perform a sold-out show there later this month on March 28.

 * Local Concerts: The Hayes Symphony Orchestra is performing its spring concert on March 21.

🌳 Top Spots to Visit

 * Chislehurst Caves: A 22-mile labyrinth of man-made tunnels that served as an air-raid shelter in WWII and a legendary music venue for the likes of Jimi Hendrix.

 * Crystal Palace Park: Technically on the border, but iconic for its Victorian "dinosaurs" and the ruins of the glass palace.

 * Church House Gardens: The perfect spot for a stroll right behind the town center, complete with a lake and views of the old parish church.
